Great Bay Regional P.A.L.
Great Bay Regional P.A.L. is a community outreach program that supplies a safe and supervised summer program for the youth in Little Egg Harbor, Tuckerton, Bass River and Eagleswood. This program includes the following; basketball, fishing, martial arts and the recent addition of pickleball. These activities are possible with the donations from local businesses and the support of our local school districts. Because of this support we can hold our basketball and pickleball on their campus without having to worry about cancelling due to weather. All of our activities are free to the youth in our area and seem to grow every year.
Jr. Police Recruits
The Jr Police Recruit Program is a community based program for the youth in our area who are interested in careers in the military or law enforcement. We participate in a variety of community events and planning. They will be shown an overview in many areas involved in the day to day operation of law enforcement. We have previously trained and participated in the Youth Law Enforcement Competitions which was held at Stockton University. These competitions not only highlighted our program, but our police department, by placing in every scenario provided by the competition. We even placed first, second and third one year of the competition.
Our Jr Recruits will also go on field trips which include local military installations, prisons, other police departments, and to the Warren Grove Bombing Range to watch the military aircraft. We even toured a prison museum that was built in the early 1800’s. There are also plenty of other activities we do, which includes assisting with our summer PAL programs. In the past we have had the opportunity to host an assortment of guest speakers to include various military personnel, members from the DEA, FBI, NJSP and our local Sheriff’s Department.
